Can you believe that it’s been six months of getting ipsy glam bags in the mail, and I’m still as excited seeing the pink, shiny foil package as I was the very first time?
Well you should believe it, because it’s true!
After my glam bag from March, I went back onto ipsy.com and retook the quiz, hoping that I would get some fun, new products for April.
Well, I wasn’t disappointed!
Let’s take a look inside the April ipsy glam bag!
1. Nth DEGREE – MOROCCAN ARGAN OIL AND KERATIN HAIR SERUM
I have extremely fine, thin hair. Whenever I use products, I have to make sure that they won’t weigh my hair down, or else I’ll look like a drowned rat (limp, lifeless hair is NOT sexy). I’m fairly cautious when it comes to using oils; some contain weight to them that drags my hair down, but luckily, this one does not.
It makes my hair super smooth and repairs split ends! Considering I blowdry and straighten my hair often enough to get split ends, I’m perfectly okay with this product fixing those bad boys for me. It’s got a nice, light scent to it, too.
2. PROBELLE NAIL LACQUER – “IN OR OUT”
I love nail polish. Love love love it! I have a pretty big collection of it, so I like to think I know a thing or two when it comes to cuticle care.
I’m not super thrilled with this product. It’s kind of thin, and seems very liquidy, leaving me applying coat after coat after coat. It does dry very quickly though, and the colour it’s extremely pretty! Because I had just gotten my nails done, I decided to put it on my toes and get them ready for spring!
It’s a really pretty colour, I just hate how long it takes to put it on to get that pop of purple.
3. TARTE LIPSURGENGE – LIP CREAM – “WONDER”
I’m torn between either really liking this colour, or really hating it. I love what it looks like from the outside, but there’s a bit of a shimmer to it when I apply it that I don’t really enjoy. But, when I blot it down with a tissue, it gets rid of some of the shine and then it’s much more wearable. It is super moisturizing though, so it’s got that going for it!
I looked up the product afterwards, and it said on tarte’s website that it can also be used as a cheek colour, so I might be trying that the next time I apply my makeup.
4. CITY COLOR COSMETICS HIGHLIGHT TRIO
Hands down, my favorite product in this month’s glam bag!
A little highlight can go a long way, and can bring a little shimmer and lightness to your face. According to ipsy’s website, the six best places to put the highlight are: bridge of your nose, cheekbones, forehead, inner corner of your eyes, chin, and cupid’s bow (which is the point in the middle of your upper lip). So basically, anywhere you think the sun would hit it causing it to reflect and give it a nice glow.
I also love that there are three different shades of highlight, and they double as eyeshadows!
5. CROWN BRUSH – C427 DUO FIBER BLUSH BRUSH
I love getting brushes in my glam bag because a) brushes are expensive, and b) you can never have too many brushes.
The bristles are super soft, and twist and turn whichever way you need them to. It offers a nice, light, simple application that doesn’t leave your blush or highlight caked on.
I’ve been using this brush with the highlighter, and I’m absolutely in love. I’ve thrown it into my makeup bag, so it’s found it’s permanent home.
The bag I got this month is pretty nifty. It’s almost a canvas-type material, but the inner lining still has some nylon to it for an easy clean in case anything spills. The colours are bright and spring-like too! Loving the blue and orange combo!
To be perfectly honest, I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to do with all of these bags!
