Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! 13 days away, to be exact! I’m not big on commercialized holidays, but this year, I’m feeling quite hopelessly romantic. It’s my boyfriend and my first official Valentine’s Day! ?
We’re not planning on doing anything crazy fancy; I’ll probably make dinner and we’ll watch a movie, or we’ll go out for dinner & a movie. Either way, overpriced heart-shaped chocolate will be going in and around my mouth.
I don’t know about you ladies, but my dude is pretty wicked and deserves all of the Valentine’s Day love. Unfortunately, I don’t have all of the money, so I’m capping my spending at $150. We tend to do more than we buy; football games, comedy shows.. that kinda stuff. I’d rather make memories and have good times. In the long run, it’s the memories that make you happy.
So, yeah. No more than $150. Ideally, no more than $100, but I suppose the first Valentine’s Day is as good a reason as any to be a little extra generous.Looking for a great #ValentinesDay gift for your sweetheart? Check out this #giftguideforhim! Click To Tweet
I want to get him something special, and in my searching I found a lot of really great items that any man would love. I think it’s my calling in life to help people spend money, so here’s a Valentine’s Day gift guide for the man in your life.
The Commuter Three-Hand Date Brown Leather Watch || $130 CAD
I believe that every man should own a good watch. Something classic that can be dressed up or dressed down, will match with every style in every season, and that can make sure they’re on time for those movie dates. Fossil watches are amazing; I’ve had mine for over a year and it looks good as new. On the rare occasion I forget my watch at home, I 100% feel naked. Pro tip: Michael Kohr’s watches are made by Fossil, so you’re not only getting a gorgeous watch, you’re getting quality.
Roots Salt & Pepper Original Sweatpant || $72 CAD
Hands down, the most comfy sweatpants ever. Who doesn’t love a great pair of pants they could lounge around the house in playing video games or watching movies. Plus, once you gift them to your boy, you get to wear them cause what’s his is yours. Makes sense, right?
Madden ’17 for XBox One || $60 CAD
If your dude is a video game lover, you can’t go wrong with a video game. My dude likes sports quite a bit (he’s the real reason I actually understand and have grown to love football), so any of the newest edition sports games would make him happy. Unfortunately, he’s got all the games he wants right now, so I’m going to have to be really clever if I’m gonna find something else he’ll like. And if you do decide to go this route, be prepared to lose your dude for a while.
MeUndies Boxer-Briefs || $20-25 USD
These are marketed as “ridiculously comfortable underwear,” and they’re not joking! I bought us both a pair of MeUndies for Christmas after hearing ads in most of the podcasts I listen to, and they are undeniably the most comfy pair of undies. Ever. They come in a bunch of different styles and colors so you can get super vibrant or play it cool. You and your love can even get matching patterns and spend Valentine’s Day canoodling in comfy, matching undies!
Dolce & Gabbana The One || $86 USD
Do you want your man to smell good? This is your chance to make him smell the way you want him to smell. I personally love this scent, but it’s not for everyone. Cologne is a great gift idea, partially because a) he’ll smell delicious, and b) you get to choose it. It’s a win/win situation, and it lasts for a good amount of time. This is a 3.3oz bottle from Sephora, and for $86 USD, it’s kind of a steal.
Apple In-Ear Headphones || $79 USD
My guy loses his headphones. A lot. And he has the habit of wrapping them around his phone when he sticks it in his pocket, which crushes the cord and then they don’t work, so he’ll borrow mine leaving me to travel to and from work without music, or a podcast. Apple headphones can be pricey, but they’re damn good – especially if you have an iPhone. It’s a great gift for your dude if he’s got a long commute to work, or just listens to a lot of music/podcasts.
And to think, last year I wrote a post about surviving Valentine’s Day when you’re single, and this year I’m writing gift guides. Things really can change in the span of a year!
Happy love month, lovelies!
