I know, I know, it’s March and I’m writing a February post – whoops! Life happens, okay?
February’s a short month – we even got an extra day with this one – but it’s always been the month that flies right by!
As much as I love the cool, crisp air February brings (and by ‘cool’ and ‘crisp’ I mean ‘frigid’ and ‘arctic’), I’m ready to start moving into the warmer months. I can’t wait to put away my
winter jacket parka for good!
There haven’t been too many things that I can say I’m obsessed with this month, but there are five things that have absolutely topped my February obsessions.
SHOOP – SALT-N-PEPA
Ever since seeing Deadpool (which was AMAZING, by the way), I’ve been obsessing with this song. It’s an oldie, but a goodie!
Salt-N-Pepa only had a few hits, but they’re the type of songs that make you wanna get up and dance.
I’ve even made it my alarm.
Do you know how awesome it is to wake up to a really fun song? It puts you in the right mindset from the get-go, and you start your day happy.
‘CURRANT AFFAIR’ FROM DAVID’S TEA
This has been my favorite tea of theirs for a while now, but the cold weather in late February had me drinking all the tea.
It’s just so delicious! It’s a rooibos tea, so it doesn’t contain caffeine, and there’s already a natural sweetness to it so I don’t find myself reaching for honey or sugar or sweetener at all. I don’t normally add sugar to my tea anyway, but I often will find that some rooibos teas have a sort of bitterness to them.
Not this one.
Plus, I love the purple tin I have for it, too.
Did I mention it smells divine? It does.
‘WORDS WITH FRIENDS’
I got addicted to this game a few years ago, and then again last year, and finally again this month.
I love words. I can’t say I’m always amazing at it, but there are some games that I kick ass in.
It’s exactly like Scrabble, but you get to play with people you’re friends with on Facebook, or if they know your username.
If you play, and you want a friendly challenge, find me!
My username is: cassieoxo
Fun fact: ‘blogger’ is worth 11 points in Scrabble.
Fun fact number two: Scrabble tile coasters are really easy to make!
BATISTE DRY SHAMPOO
I really, really hate washing my hair.
It’s the entire blowdrying process, and to be frank, your hair never looks as good as it does in the 30 seconds after you style your blow dry. Because my hair is so thin and fine, when I blow dry it completely it flattens out and looks absolutely limp, so normally I leave it a little damp and it adds just a touch more volume to it as it dries.
I’ve already mentioned how freaking cold February has been in the later half of the month, so I’ve been skipping the blow dry… and, well, the washing process altogether.
I’ve been using Batiste Dry Shampoo for a while, and I find that it’s probably the best product I’ve gotten my hands on lately. It dries clear, and it smells fantastic. It’s great for all hair types and colours!
Give it a try! You can find it at Shoppers or Walmart for roughly $9.99, and Shoppers usualy offers bonus Optimum points on it (if you have the Optimum app)!
NUDES AND ‘BARELY THERE’ MAKEUP
No, not those kind of nudes. Sheesh.
As much of a girl as I am, I hate makeup sometimes. I hate having to take the time to put it on and look amazing – it’s a chore at times.
That being said, this month I’ve been wearing a lot of nude lip colors and experimenting with ‘barely there’ makeup.
This matte lipstick from TreStique is one that I received in my November glam bag from ipsy, and I’ve been loving it this month.
It’s the perfect color – matches my lips almost perfectly, but it’s still so pigmented that it stands out.
In case you’re looking to buy it, it’s shade is Florence Fig.
I took this photo on Sunday – all I’m wearing is foundation and mascara. I was just going out to run errands, but I was happy that I didn’t look like a total trainwreck when I left the house.
It’s just so much easier not to have to worry about looking your best sometimes.
Aaaaaaand there we have them.
The five things I’ve been obsessed with last month.
Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that March will be a little bit warmer!
Til next time,
