Ahem. *puts on best infomercial voice*
Is your hair lacking oomph? Has it become dull or lustre-less? Do you often wish that your strands would sparkle in the sunlight?
What if I told you that I know of a service – not just a product – that’ll transform your hair and give you the color you’ve always wanted!
Well, search no more, ladies! Skip the store-bought boxed hair dye and gather ’round to listen to what I have to say.
Alright, that’s enough of that.
At the beginning of December, I wanted to experiment with a new hair colour. In the summer I’d gone lighter, but by this point, I was ready to give up the golden locks and darken those tresses. The ideal color: a rich, chocolate brown. I skimmed through box dye after box dye until finally one of them caught my eye.
Honey, I wish it hadn’t. This is what I ended up with.
Forgive the lack of makeup (and the horrible, uncoiffed brows), and just look at the colour my hair turned.
I don’t know about you, but this doesn’t look “Golden Chocolate Brown” to me; it looks auburn and awful. Don’t take this the wrong way, red hair is BEAUTIFUL. Just not on me. I know tons of people who rock the red hair dye, but I can’t pull it off. This I know from experience.Check out @eSalon for some #amazing, #affordable and #personalized hair color! http://wp.me/p70xIj-q96 Click To Tweet
So what did I do?
I wanted to dye my hair back to dark right away, but I didn’t want to bombard it with harsh dyes and chemicals so soon after I had just dyed it. So while listening to a podcast one day, an ad came on for eSalon.com, an online hair salon whose stylists will personally create the perfect color for you. By entering a promo code, I was able to order myself two bottles of hair dye for the price of one. The best part? It was custom made just for me.
When you first sign up for eSalon.com, you’ll have to complete a survey about your hair type and colour; this is letting your colorist know where to begin, what you’re looking for, and what they should avoid. Within a few questions your hair profile is complete, and your order is processing.
It took only three weeks for my color to arrive.
If you look closely, you’ll see that it’s personalized just for me!
I gotta tell ya, eSalon.com sure does know how to make a girl feel sorta special.
Inside the box..
Inside the box were personalized instructions, two hair colors and developers, an application brush, and a box that contained two pairs of gloves, after-colour shampoo, conditioner, a stain guard and a stain remover.
Now it’s honesty time: I’ve never dyed my hair on my own. I’ve had people dye it for me, but I’ve never actually applied the colour myself. I was extremely nervous; what if I screw it up? My friend Kyra assured me that it was almost impossible to screw up dying your hair darker than it is, so with the false confidence I got from that statement, I went to work.
Guys, this was the easiest thing to do.
Like, ever. The instructions they gave me were incredibly easy to follow. The only thing I struggled with was the length of my hair, which if you’ve dyed your hair before, you know that the longer it is, the higher the difficulty level.
I may or may not have stained one of my tank tops (and the bathroom door), but. It was all worth it.
Look at these gorgeous, dark, vixen-y tresses *insert ‘hearts for eyes’ emoji*. I’m in la-la-love. And I haven’t even dropped the L-bomb with my boy yet, but.. damn. I love eSalon.com.
The best part about it is that you can set your eSalon.com subscription to auto-ship you your specialized hair color every couple of weeks depending on how often you’ll need to color your roots.
Ob-sessed. And, this isn’t even a sponsored post; I just love the results so much, I’m giving eSalon.com and their hair dye free advertising. Yer welcome, eSalon.
You. Are. Welcome.
