Hello lovelies, and happy Valentine’s Day!! ❤️
I’m already so pumped full of chocolate and candy (well, hot chocolate and a donut.. but.. same thing, right?) and it’s only 11am! It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a Valentine’s Day; I’ve had a bad history of dating in the past…. it’s a long story. I could seriously write a novel about it all, and have considered doing so, but who would want to read a bunch of dates gone wrong and tons of text message fails.
Actually, that sounds like it could be pretty funny. Hmm.
Well, the boy and I aren’t really doing much today; probably just cooking dinner together and heading out for a drink or two, or going to see a movie. Keeping it pretty low key is how we like to roll. Either way, I have a cute little outfit all planned out that’s perfect for staying in, going out, and everything in between.
Before you ask, yes I was cold. It started snowing while I was taking that photo, and it’s the middle of February. But don’t I still look cute?
The outfit was inspired by Valentine’s Day itself; burgundy, white, black, and just a little touch of red and navy in the scarf. Most of it’s from Old Navy (the pants and white tee), but the bag is a genuine Kate Spade. The scarf is from Ardene, because why wouldn’t you spend $10 on a cute scarf like this one when they’re having a sale? Eeeeexactly.
Also, the boots? Those are my little secret.
Okay fine, I’ll share my secret. I bought them where I bought the scarf, and they were 70% off. That’s right! I’m thrifty! I’d love to say that I like expensive things, and I really do like expensive things, but I don’t need them. If these boots only last me through the spring, I won’t be sad. Sure, that $13 hole in my pocket will suck, but I think I’ll survive.
C’monnnn.. those boots are so cute (and they’re actually pretty comfy for $13)!
It’s such a simple outfit, and you can dress it up or down. Throw on a blazer and you’ve got something a little classier. I’m by no means a trendsetter, but I do like to think that I’m somewhat fashion-forward. I’m all about spending money on key items, and my capsule wardrobe is starting to grow, but when it comes to fashion that’ll be out of style sooner rather than later, I won’t dish out the moolah.
I prefer comfort over style, but I still love fashion. I enjoy getting dolled up and looking my best, but I’m not going to kill myself and wear stiletto heels in the middle of February. Nope. Not my style.
Anyway, go spend time with your loved ones today.
Happy la-la-love day, lovelies!
