30 Under 30 Bucket List… Did It Happen?

WELL.

It’s been a little over two years since I’ve written my 30 Under 30 Bucket List, and today..

…drumroll please…

IS MY 30th BIRTHDAY!

I wrote the bucket list with the hopes of being able to one day say, “when I was 28 I made a bucket list of 30 things I wanted to do before I turned 30, and I DID THEM ALL!”

Yeeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh… so you know when LIFE happens? Heh. Life happened. And I got to experience some AMAZING things over the past two years, like going to my first NFL game, falling head-over-high-heels in love, become a mom to the cutest little kitty on the PLANET…

Anyway, to make this exciting for both of us, I made it into a lil game: for every experience I cross off my list, I get one point!

1 experience = 1 point.

LET’S GO!

  1. See the Eiffle Tower at night.
  2. Watch the 4th of July fireworks in Washington, DC.
  3. Write a novel. — I wrote, like, HALF of one… so.. I crossed out half — makes sense, right?
  4. Spend New Year’s Eve in NYC.
  5. Kiss someone at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
  6. Go apple picking.
  7. Visit relatives in Poland.
  8. Get something I write published.so like, guest blog posts TOTALLY count!
  9. Visit the FRIENDS building in NYC.
  10. Go on a hot air balloon ride.
  11. Appear in a movie/TV show.
  12. Bike across the Golden Gate Bridge.
  13. Participate in a flash mob.
  14. Learn a different language – I’m thinking Spanish. — okay, so I didn’t LEARN a new language, but I’ve had to SERIOUSLY brush up on my Polish ever since I started working at a Polish doctor’s office — and I swear, it felt like learning a new language.. so.. that counts in my books!
  15. Take a spontaneous trip; as in, go to the airport and take the first flight out to anywhere.alright it wasn’t THAT romantic, but we did rent a car and drive to Buffalo out of boredom (and decided to move in together that same weekend)!
  16. Get a job in my field – either in the Entertainment industry or in Journalism.
  17. Adopt a kitten.I took in the fur-love of my life in March + I am obsessed with her! I adopted her from a friend, so.. weeeee!
  18. See the West Coast of Canada. — I mean, Calgary IS TECHINALLY in the west.. half marks here!
  19. Visit the HOLLYWOOD sign.
  20. Participate in a Color Run.
  21. Put a piece of gum on the gum wall in Seattle.
  22. Own a really nice camera.
  23. Get matching tattoos with someone special to me.well, I got a tattoo of the same thing on either wrist + I’m special to myself .. that counts, right?
  24. Write on the ‘Before I Die’ wall in New Orleans.
  25. Go whale spotting.
  26. Visit the Salem Witch House.
  27. Visit the Grand Ol’ Opry in Nashville.
  28. Take a photo at Robin Williams’ star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
  29. Stand in two places/states/towns/provinces at once.
  30. Be happy. — and believe it or not, I found a path that makes me VERY happy + people who make me the happiest clam on earth. #winning

TOTAL SCORE: 13/30

Right, so if this was some high-school pop quiz, I TOTALLY failed — but I think the lesson here is that even the tiniest little things you don’t think will be a lasting memory, or something you choose to look back on, are often the ones you remember the clearest and just happen to stick out in your mind the most!

Thankfully it’s a bucket list — as in, “before I kick the bucket” list, so I’ve got PLENTY of time to get most of this time.

But for today, I’m gonna enjoy the first day of my dirty thirties and enjoy my coffee + my crossword mug that my dude got me for Christmas (he just GETS me, ya know?).
