MY EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE
If you sleep in all your makeup, clap your hands..
Yes, ladies, it’s true. I’ve slept in a face FULL of makeup
a bunch a handful of times, and I’m not proud of it. It still happens sometimes — you know, you fall asleep on the couch and then get woken up + told to get up to go to bed (WTF DUDE LET ME SLEEP I’M ALREADY ASLEEP). It’s happened to all of us, I’m sure of it. BUT — and I’m pretty proud of myself for this — my evening skincare routine has gotten SO MUCH BETTER with the help of SeneGence!
My evening skincare routine is pretty similar to my morning skincare routine, with a few additions. Here’s what’s been added:
Fooops! SeneCosmetics Facial Color Remover
Taking off my makeup is step one, and this makeup remover makes it SO FLIPPIN’ EASY! I shake up the bottle so the two layers are mixed together, and get a bit of it on my face. I’ll massage it around and make sure it gets all up in those waterproof-mascara’d lashes, and let it hang out on my face for 20-30 seconds. While that’s happening, I run the water til it’s nice and
boiling hot and soak a washcloth. From there, I gently wipe away everything that’s been chilling on my face for the entire day. Easy peasy! No elbow grease required!
Here’s where the game-changers kick in!
After I take my makeup off, I use the 3-in-1 Cleanser, Climate Control, and SeneSerum-C just like I do in the morning routine, BUT THIS TIME I follow up the SeneSerum-C with Nangai Oil. This stuff a) SMELLS LIKE HEAVEN, b) is LOADED with moisture-enhancing triglycerides that keep your skin ultra hydrated, and c) has anti-inflammatory benefits, so it’ll actually help get rid of the redness that sometime’s associated with dry skin! It’s perfection, basically.
This replaces the Color Correcting Tinted Moisturizer from my morning routine. Not only does this contain our SenePlex complex, but it’s full of Vitamin E. Every evening moisturizer is tailored to your skincare, just like the DayTime moisturizer and 3-in-1 Cleanser — in my case, using the Normal to Dry line, my evening moisturizer also contains avocado oil, which is super rich and moisturizing.
Yes, even 30-year-olds start getting wrinkles around their eyes and start to notice their skin sag just that tiny bit more, so it’s never too early to start using a good eye cream! I’m someone who HAAAAAATES the feeling of oils and creams on my eyes, but this is so silky and lightweight it doesn’t bother my eyes AT ALL! It’s also full of oils + vitamins, specifically soybean oil (improves skin smoothness + hydration) and kukui seed oil (soothes your skin) + Vitamin A (helps increase skin elasticity/firmness). I’ve been told it also helps with easier eye makeup application, so I MAY have to add it to my morning routine and see how that works out.
LipSense Moisturizing Lip Balm
The final step is making sure that my lips are free of the day’s LipSense, clean + dry before puckering up and putting on some Moisturizing Lip Balm overnight. This is the stuff that dreams are made of, for real! I’ll put this on overnight (and I use a fairly generous amount, cause I want ultimate moisturizing power!), and wake up in the morning with lips that look healthier and plumper. It’s all thanks to the coconut oil, cocoa and shea butters! The stuff lasts forever too, and is so lightweight it feels like your lips are actually able to breathe! Plus, it’s got a matte finish, so your chap-lipped dude can use this without feeling like his lips are glossy AF.
Aaaaaand that’s it!
That’s my full routine.
It takes about 10 minutes, tops, and I’m able to go to bed feeling fresh-faced and clean, and because everything is so lightweight, my skin is still able to breathe and my pores aren’t getting clogged (so it actually leads to fewer breakouts in the long run). Plus, it’s nice to know that my skin is getting all of these benefits while I’m sleeping! WIN/WIN!!
