There’s nothing like the warmth of spring and summer to bolster our mood. All the things that felt like a chore during winter now come to us more effortlessly, and we’re a lot more motivated to work on our body and face giving that the bathing suit season is right around the corner. From pampering treatments that will smooth our skin to some fun tricks that you can use to look radiant, it’s time to do a little body tune-up and update our beauty routine.

Whole-body exfoliation

There are two ways you can exfoliate your body. One is dry brushing, and all you need for it is a body brush made of firm, natural fibers that will help you slough away dead skin cells. Brush all over your body right before you step into the shower and your skin will be smooth and soft. The other way to exfoliate would be a simple sugar scrub that you can easily make at home: mix equal parts granulated sugar and ground coffee beans, and add a few drops of olive oil, or tea tree oil. The sugar will get rid of the rough texture, and the coffee will have some added anti-cellulite benefits and improve your circulation.

Don’t forget the knees, heels, and elbows

If your heels are dry they might need some extra exfoliation, but the skin there can get so rough that nothing short of a heel file will do. Make sure to file away the roughness while you’re in the shower because the water will soften the skin and it’ll make it easier. Now, to really give your dry knees, elbows, and heels the moisture they need, we recommend something like the Lucas PaPaw Ointment, a famed Aussie go-to for dry skin. Gorgeous, radiant face

Oh boy, the face is our favorite part. You can start off by steaming your face to open up the pores, and then move on to exfoliation. Of course, the key thing about face care is that you don’t make it an intermittent thing where you maybe apply a mask every once in a while. It’s about consistent care, and you really need to be regular if you want to see results. Use an SPF protection every day and pay special attention to the kind of foundation you use. You should definitely find something with quality ingredients because a good foundation will cover up your imperfections, but it will also hydrate and let your skin breathe. If you have particularly oily skin you can use oil blotting sheets to control the shine and set your foundation with a little translucent powder.

Make your hands gloriously soft

Soft, nourished hands are a sign of femininity, and if you want them to look good and make your manicure stand out, then you need to care for them.
