30 Minute Faux Pho Recipe

Heyyyy friends! Hope you’re all having a lovely week so far, and thanks for dropping by! Toronto’s been dreary and miserable lately, and it’s been a serious downer. I’m trying to stay as productive as I can, but I’ve gotta admit that I’ve been a bit more lazy than I usually am.

Serious question right off the bat: has anyone else been craving soup like a fiend lately?

Holy moly, all I want to eat is soup. I think it’s the gloomy winter and lack of vitamin D. The fact that soup is a great comfort food could also be part of the reason. And who doesn’t love comfort food on a mildly depressing winter day?

Ginger Snap Cookies

Who doesn’t love baking during the holiday season?

There’s something comforting and relaxing about the smell of cookies swirling through the kitchen while the snow is falling outside.

Baileys in your coffee or hot chocolate is a must. The choice to play Christmas music while baking, well.. that’s up to you.

Overnight Oats

On a typical day, my breakfast consists of the greatest, most important substance known to man: coffee.

I am not a breakfast eater; I never really have been. Lately I’ve been waking up earlier and earlier, and have been noticing that my stomach growls louder than it used to.

The problem: I usually give myself only enough time in the morning to wake up and have cup after cup of coffee as I get ready to leave the house for the day.

The solution: overnight oats.

Football Friendly BBQ Nachos

Ahh, autumn!

The air is crisp, the leaves are changing colours, boys begin to disappear on Sunday’s, and are glued to the television to watch football players (wearing their ever-so-tight pants) hit the field and score those touchdowns.

That ‘tight pants’ thing is really just for me, but yes, friends, football is back!

Personally, I don’t fully understand football; there are so many rules and different plays, and sometimes it’s hard to follow. What I do understand, however, is nachos!

So why are they considered being ‘football friendly?” Well, you eat them with friends while watching football. Duh.

The Perfect Summer Sangria

I’m a big fan of wine – that’s no surprise.

I’m also a big fan of the summertime.

What do you get when you put wine and summertime together?

The perfect summer sangria.

Why I Put Coconut Oil in My Morning Coffee

I am not a breakfast eater.

I’ve never been able to, even if I prepare it the night before.

I know, I know. I’ve heard it all: “it’s the most important meal of the day”, “breakfast keeps you going all day”, yadda yadda yadda. I just can’t do it.

I’m not trying to brush off the fact that breakfast is important, and I wanted to somehow incorporate its benefits into my morning routine, so I figured out a compromise.

I put coconut oil in my morning coffee.
