Lessons I’ve Learned from ‘Sex And The City’

Carrie Bradshaw is the reason I want to be a writer – columnist, specifically.

Well if we’re being completely honest, I would straight up love to be Carrie Bradshaw; a closet full of clothes and shoes, a brownstone on the Upper East Side, an amazing job as a columnist and later a freelancer for Vogue… um, yes please! Not to mention the amazing friends she has, and the hunky men she dates – Big AND Aidan?

Side note: I can’t believe I just used the word hunky.

Point is, Carrie and her friends have taught me valuable life lessons.

How To Survive Valentine’s Day When You’re Single

Well, the day we singles dread every year has fast approached: it’s Valentine’s Day.

I love love. I do. Being forced to tell somebody that you love them because it’s the glorified day of love.. that isn’t for me. Especially so when you’re not exactly single, but you’re not exactly dating anyone. It’s complicated.

To be perfectly honest, I hate how “Hallmark” this holiday has become.

Of course, the people that mean the most to me will get some sort of message, that’s a given. Even if it’s a funny photo with a silly message attached to it, it’s my way of telling them that they’re important to me.

But again, the “not in a relationship” part of me hates this holiday.

So, here’s how to survive Valentine’s Day when you’re single.

Why I Put Coconut Oil in My Morning Coffee

I am not a breakfast eater.

I’ve never been able to, even if I prepare it the night before.

I know, I know. I’ve heard it all: “it’s the most important meal of the day”, “breakfast keeps you going all day”, yadda yadda yadda. I just can’t do it.

I’m not trying to brush off the fact that breakfast is important, and I wanted to somehow incorporate its benefits into my morning routine, so I figured out a compromise.

I put coconut oil in my morning coffee.

February Bullet Journal

February is here!

You know what that means – a brand new spread in my bullet journal that I can’t wait to share with everyone!

Now, take note: don’t be fooled by all of the heart doodles; I’m not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day, but.. if the shoe fits, lace ‘er up, right? It’s fitting for the month.

Well, let’s dive right in, shall we? Here’s my February bullet journal set-up.

My January Obsessions

I’m a fairly obsessive person.

I can admit that and feel no shame whatsoever.

It’s not out of control, or anything, but if I like something enough you’re bound to hear about it at one point.

As it turns out, I find that there are new things I become obsessed with on a regular basis – hair styles, skin care products, scents.. basically anything. It’s the last day of January, and since we’re in a new year, I thought I’d start a new series of posts – My Monthly Obsessions.

Here are my January obsessions.
