Valentine’s Day Inspired Outfit

Hello lovelies, and happy Valentine’s Day!! ❤️

I’m already so pumped full of chocolate and candy (well, hot chocolate and a donut.. but.. same thing, right?) and it’s only 11am! It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a Valentine’s Day; I’ve had a bad history of dating in the past…. it’s a long story. I could seriously write a novel about it all, and have considered doing so, but who would want to read a bunch of dates gone wrong and tons of text message fails.

Actually, that sounds like it could be pretty funny. Hmm.

Well, the boy and I aren’t really doing much today; probably just cooking dinner together and heading out for a drink or two, or going to see a movie. Keeping it pretty low key is how we like to roll. Either way, I have a cute little outfit all planned out that’s perfect for staying in, going out, and everything in between.

Plaid scarf, Kate Spade purse, burgundy pants from Old Navy.

Why I Believe In Retail Therapy

Is it just me, or has anyone else been feeling sluggish and unmotivated these last few days?

If I didn’t actively have to leave my house to go to work or class, I probably wouldn’t.

I’ve also been watching Game of Thrones like it’s going out of style, so not wanting to do anything but get caught up before the new season starts seems like a legitimate reason. Side note: why can’t THIS be a job? Get paid to stay in bed and watch TV shows – COUNT ME IN!

Anyway, because of the crappy last few days, I decided to have a ‘treat yo’self’ kind of day the very best way I knew how: retail therapy

My January Obsessions

I’m a fairly obsessive person.

I can admit that and feel no shame whatsoever.

It’s not out of control, or anything, but if I like something enough you’re bound to hear about it at one point.

As it turns out, I find that there are new things I become obsessed with on a regular basis – hair styles, skin care products, scents.. basically anything. It’s the last day of January, and since we’re in a new year, I thought I’d start a new series of posts – My Monthly Obsessions.

Here are my January obsessions.

Fall Fashion on a Budget

Ah, fall fashion. One of my favourite things about this season.I’ve always been a fan of scarves, and boots, and sweaters; browns, greys, and deep, rich colours. And let’s not forget about layers! As the weather gets colder, I find myself scrambling through all of my old sweaters and long sleeved shirts trying to find something that’s in style, that I still like, and something that I don’t look at and think “what in God’s name was I thinking when I bought this?”. I’m always disappointed with my collection, though. Does anyone else…
